BI 101 Old Testament Survey (3)
Presents an overview of the entire Old Testament, emphasizing the general theme and significant features, and briefly outlines each book. This course also looks at how each book fits with God’s purpose for His creation.


BI 111 New Testament Survey (3)
Surveys the New Testament books. This course highlights the history, themes, basic outlines, and dispensational settings for God’s program. 


BI 120 Principles of Bible Interpretation (3)
Studies the grammatical-historical method of Bible interpretation. Students will practice making structural diagrams of Scripture passages, identifying parts of speech and the relationships
between various parts, and completing word studies in order to understand the intended
meaning of the text. In addition, students will be introduced to the importance and rationale
of Dispensationalism.


BI 121 Gospel of Matthew (2)
Studies Matthew, emphasizing the way in which the author presented evidences of the Messiahship of Jesus to his intended readers. Students will trace the way Matthew develops the theme throughout the book; timeless spiritual principles will also be highlighted. 


BI 124 Acts (2)
Studies the book of Acts as well as the epistles that were written during the time period presented. Students will discover the unique character and purposes of the miracles performed, the divine direction in the spread of the gospel, and the principles of local church organization and function. The class will also emphasize the transitional nature of Acts, showing how the apostles moved from proclaiming the gospel only to Israel, to proclaiming it to the whole world. (This course will be taught Sept-May on a trimester basis, running concurrent with the MVBC Sunday School schedule.)


MI 101 Introduction to Missions (2)
Studies the biblical basis and philosophy of missions. This class focus presents the practical aspects of missions and the real life experiences of missionaries. 


PR 101 Marriage and Family (2)
I
nvestigates what God’s Word teaches about the purpose and function of each member of the family.  Students learn biblical principles for both single and married people about solving problems, building a marriage, and controlling finances and assets.


PT 101 Christian Living (2)
Studies the various aspects of Christ’s work on the cross as a foundation for the believer’s eternal security and victory in the Christian life. This course encourages students to personalize the glorious words: Christ liveth in me (Galatians 2:20).


PT 102 Personal Evangelism/Discipleship (2)
Studies the privilege and introduces a method of presenting the Gospel to others. The course emphasizes memorizing Scripture and mentoring newer believers in the essentials of the Christian life. (Fall Sem.)


PT 111 Managing Stress as a Christian (2)
Surveys various causes of stress in life and what the Bible teaches about dealing with it.  Frustration levels can often grow very high in this fast-paced society. Through this study, the student will learn practical and biblical answers that will equip him to respond to the pressures of life in a way that pleases the Lord—and reduce stress. 


PT 141 Christian Ethics (2)
Discusses pressing moral issues such as abortion, euthanasia, artificial reproduction, cohabitation, and civil disobedience from a biblical perspective. In a day in which moral absolutes are eroded, believers in Christ need to be anchored to the Word of God more than ever before.
 


SP 101 Speech (2)
Addresses the basic principles of organization, use of language, and techniques of effective delivery for a variety of speeches. Delivery styles covered are manuscript, memorized, impromptu, and extemporaneous speaking.


SP 102 Principles of Teaching (2)
Introduces students to the practical principles of preparing and presenting interesting Bible lessons to various age groups. The students will gain experience in teaching a lesson that would be suitable for Sunday School or other Bible classes as well as making crafts and bulletin boards for the benefit of the classroom setting. 


TH 101 Bibliology/Theology Proper (3)
Delves into the way the Bible was revealed, inspired, preserved, and translated. This course emphasizes the inerrancy of Scripture in the light of the recent evangelical compromises and claims that the Bible may contain errors. Theology Proper is a study of the nature and attributes of the triune God with the objective of fostering a reverence and love for Him.


TH 111 Eschatology (3)
Studies God’s covenants with Israel and His program for her future from a dispensational framework. Students will also discuss the major prophetic events for the Church, the Tribulation period, and the Millennial Reign of Christ. 


TH 121 Christology/Pneumatology (3)
Studies the doctrines of Christ, emphasizing the deity, humanity, atoning death, glorious resurrection, and past and present ministries of the Son of God. Students will also study the
doctrine of the Holy Spirit, focusing on the baptizing and filling ministries of the Holy Spirit, while examining the Charismatic Movement in the light of the New Testament teaching on spiritual gifts. 


TH 131 Ecclesiology/Biblical Separation (3)
Studies the unique place that the local church occupies in the plan of God for this dispensation. This course will cover subjects such as the nature, origin, importance, purpose, and function of the local assembly while encouraging the student’s appreciation for his own church. Students will also study the doctrine of separation – both in its negative and positive aspects – placing emphasis on God’s holy character as the basis for personal and corporate separation.
